Healthcare Job Outlook

As America's largest industry in 2008, the health care profession accounted for  approximately 14 million jobs.   Mostly recession proof, these jobs are stable, better than average salary paying and flexible.  Jobs often out number applicants, and graduating students usually have their pick of jobs.  Advancement is attainable in many instances and sign-on bonuses are many times substantial.

The future for health care related jobs is equally as bright.  In this country the health care industry will add approximately 3 million new jobs within the next decade, topping every other industry.  Nearly half of the top 25 fastest growing occupations are in the health care industry.

Over the next decade, wages and salaries in health care are projected to grow at twice the rate of  the overall employment market.  In general, people working in health care will have higher incomes,  better benefits, job stability, flexible hours and more opportunity to relocate than most other industries.

Within the health care industry some of the most in demand professions are (and will continue to be) nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech / language pathology, massage therapy, dental, medical assistants, pharmacy and veterinary.

Health care is an awesome industry for the 21st century!
